The Great Room & Mackenzie Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
I have to admit, my expectations weren't very high, but I was proved dead wrong. This place will change you mind about hotel dining. Dinner service was awesome. The French Onion soup was some of the best I've had. The burger and other entrées I sampled were excellent too. Amazing staff and service and a beautiful room overlooking Mirror Lake and the mountains. We left, very satisfied. You can find great dining without going into town! Great job and keep up the great work.
The French Onion soup is the best I’ve had in a long time. Perfect amount of onions and cheese and not to salty! Our server Adela was wonderful!! She was very friendly and personable. The Espresso Martinis and cookie with ice cream for desert made the evening perfect!
I usually avoid hotel restaurants, but this one is exceptional. A medium sized dinner menu, but with a good variety to please anyone. Dishes are very well prepared and tasty. The place itself is outstanding - a large room with lofty ceiling and gigantic windows overlooking the town of Lake Placid, Mirror Lake, and the mountain backdrop. I have eaten here several times and will continue to do so while staying at the hotel.
